Related Arts Schedule
The new Related Arts schedule will begin on Monday, August 23rd with Week C. Each class will be 45 minutes long with students meeting for class twice every three weeks. Here is what I ask of our staff.
- Take & pick-up the students from their Related Arts class.
- Do not have students enter the Library for their Computer or Library classes until the other two classes have left the space.
- Please reteach procedures to stay at a voice level 0 while in the hallway.
- PLC's will meet every other week on the following days:
Wednesday - 5th, 3rd, 1st
Thursday - 4th, 2nd, Kinder
STEAM Lab
The STEAM Lab will be used by teachers and volunteers throughout the school year. Please look for times to take your class to the lab so that you can provide extension learning activities for them throughout the year. Here is a sign-up sheet for the next several months. As volunteers sign-up to come in and work the lab that block of time will be highlighted yellow and the volunteers name will be listed.
Morning Duty Information
Beginning Tuesday, August 24th
We have worked over the last couple weeks and taken into account the number of students who are arriving between 7:30-7:45. There is a good number of students who are arriving between those times and a lot are eating breakfast each morning, which is great! So we would like to try and make some adjustments, as we discussed in previous meetings, and have all students arriving to school from 7:30-7:45 to go to the cafeteria and the Gym. What will this look like:
Coverage:
- One teacher from each grade level will be on duty each morning.
- May want to take a week at a time and match it up with the A, B, or C week.
- When you decide, please type your names here.
- Two teachers will be in the cafeteria.
- Four teachers will be in the gym.
- Kindergarten Teachers - as students start getting to school and coming to the gym, you can choose 4-5 responsible and helpful 5th grade students to help keep your kiddos together.
- Non-homeroom Certified staff will rotate as well and cover the car rider line.
- Students will sit, a little separated, with their homeroom. All teachers and students must wear a mask.
- All teachers names will be on the wall on Monday.
- Students will be dismissed, in an orderly manner, to their homerooms at 7:45.
Breakfast:
- All students arriving between 7:30-7:45 who eat breakfast will eat in the cafeteria.
- Teacher coverage will end at 7:45.
- Students arriving between 7:45-8:00 will have a choice:
- Hot breakfast in the cafeteria, or
- Dry/Cold breakfast in the classroom
- A breakfast cart will be placed in the main hallway crossing where students can pick up a breakfast and milk.
- Kindergarten may want to do something a little different (we can discuss).
All students will be in their homerooms by 8:00 for the beginning of the instructional day.
We will give this a shot and see how things go. Expect it to be a little chaotic on Tuesday, but by working together and all being on the same page, we should have wrinkles worked out by the end of the week.
