Early Release Related Arts Schedule

 Good afternoon,

There has been an adjustment to the related arts schedule times for our early release days. This mainly affects the K-2 classes.

With Mr. Ingram coming from TCC, his travel time looks different which has prompted the change. Please let me know if you have any questions.

School wide fundraiser information

Teachers,

With next week being packed with different things I want to provide you with the link to the fundraiser kick off video. Please play this video for the students when you pass out the packets to your class. I am also providing the daily announcements. These will be read during GMPG each morning, but in case you would like to use the language with your students when wrapping things up you're welcome to do that as well. I will take care of "prize" distribution each day...so hopefully we're able to keep up with that and not have kids bugging you with it. If you need any extras they will be located in my office.

  • Kick Off Day:

    • Show the KICKOFF VIDEO.

    • Send packets and lanyards&badges home with students.

Grandparents luncheon information

Grandparents luncheon is on September 10th & 11th. Lunch times for each day are different and listed below. K-2 will have visitors on Thursday and 3-5th will have visitors on Friday. Students will eat with their guests in the cafe/gym on their assigned days and in their room on the non-assigned day. All walkie talkies will need to be on channel 9 from 10:00-1:00 on these days.

To help with the number of visitors and individuals eating, we are adding a serving line in the gym. This line will serve the same meal as the two lines in the cafe. Please read through this information so that you understand how these lines will work and who needs to go to which line. Each line will have a visible posted number above the door.

Thursday

All homeroom classes will split three ways and a third of your group will go to each line. This will be managed in the front lobby as to who goes to which line. All staff without a homeroom or with caseload students will need to be in the cafeteria & gym to assist with kindergarten and first grade.

Clean-up on Thursday: All tables and chairs can be left out and placed in the back of the gym. Use 5th grade students to help with clean-up.

Friday

All staff without a homeroom or with caseload students will need to be in the cafeteria & gym to assist with kindergarten.

Kindergarten students split three ways and go through all three lines. Students will meet their teacher in the back hallway to walk back to their classroom to eat.

2nd grade & 1st grade will be assigned a line for their students to go through for lunch.

Payne & Wilkins - Line 1 (cafe)

Lawrence & Thomas - Line 2 (cafe)

Fuller & Saltsman - Line 3 (gym)

Russell & Flora - Split your class in to 3 groups. Assign each group to line 1, 2 or 3.

All 2nd & 1st grade students will either meet their teacher in the cafeteria or gym and walk back to class.

3rd -5th grade classes will split three ways and a third of your group will go to each line. This will be managed in the front lobby as to who goes to which line. All staff without a homeroom or with caseload students will need to be in the cafeteria & gym to assist.

Clean-up on Friday: All tables and chairs will need to be put away under the stage. Use 5th grade students to help with clean-up.

The related arts schedule will be different on these days to help with coverage and logistics throughout the building. This schedule is also attached to the master schedule.

May 11-15th Information

Happy weekend!

I hope everyone is having a good Saturday and getting ready for a great Mother's Day tomorrow. Below is information about the week ahead. I realize there are a lot of moving parts to our week and for the end of any school year that's completely understandable. In addition to the events listed below, I ask that all of us keep in mind that with with extra activities and lots of time outside, there also needs to be guidance, supervision and control from teachers and staff in what we're allowing our students to do. Always remember to spread out, actively supervise and be proactive in teaching.

We have two days of 5th grade testing this week, so please continue to do a great job with following through with expectations and providing guidance during class time. Our testing sessions have gone really well this week and we want to finish on a high note Tuesday afternoon.

NTI Homeroom Folder Expectations

Good afternoon everyone! The state requires us to keep documentation of NTI work that's completed by students on designated NTI days. Related arts teachers, you may share information with homeroom teachers and they can send that information to the student if you have anything for them on an NTI day. Here is how we take care of student work sample documentation:

The shared drive has been shared with all K-5 homeroom teachers and special education teachers. Each grade level has a designated grade level folder. At this point there is nothing to do or nothing that is required to be put into a folder.

Once the NTI day occurs, each grade level will create a NEW FOLDER in the grade level folder. The title of the folder will be the date of the NTI day. An example from last year is below. You will find that in the 1st grade folder there were 3 different NTI days during the 24/25 school year.

The next step is for each teacher to place student work samples into the NTI day folder (example shown below). The work samples can be scans, screenshots, or pictures that you collect from the students. Only one student work sample is needed from each homeroom. Please title you submissions with your last name followed by the description. Example: Flora NTI 2 plans.PNG.

This is all that is required. If you choose to put more into the folder, that is your choice.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Holiday Dress-Up Days

These will be published in this Friday's newsletter. Just wanted to give each of you a head start on gathering your attire :) Thank you to Mrs. Gillock for putting these together.
