The district maintenance crew is working hard this semester. There are things being done and given time this semester that haven't been attended to for a while. Next on the list is cleaning the HVAC units in each room. This work has to be completed during the regular calendar day; "overtime" is not possible for this type of work. Each unit takes approx. 8 hours from start to finish to complete. At some point and time before the end of the semester you will be displaced from your classroom and will have class in an alternate room/location. The STEAM Lab, Art room and Music room will be used as the alternative classroom locations.
If you do not see your name on the proposed schedule that means your classroom unit has already been cleaned or the work will be completed at an alternate time. Rooms already complete are Hogan and McClure. Units to be serviced on an alternate schedule: Lowery, Thomas, Cherry/Potter, Major, Garvin, Siddens, Smerowski, Gillock & Howard. Summerland and McElroy, you'll find that your rooms will be completed over a break.
On your assigned day, please make sure all items are away from and moved from on top of the HVAC unit.
I realize this may seem like an inconvenience, however district staff know this work needs to be complete. I also hear side conversations about "I wonder how dirty those are" or "why am I always stuffy?" The work needs to be done and I'm thankful it's being attended to, no matter the inconvenience.
Please know, there may be some things that pop up that cause them to have to miss a specific day. If that happens, they will reach out to me and let me know with as much notice as possible.
