What's Good in Karate Danielson Good In Life

Yes…yes…the great wisdom of Mr. Miyagi.  If you have never seen or were not born before this 1982 classic, please check it out to see what you’ve been missing!  The same can be said about teaching.  What’s good in teaching, good in life.

The space before the winter break poses an interesting time for learning.  The seeds should be planted, a pace established, an understanding of student learning, but most importantly adult learning.  Where do you stand?  What do you need in order to grow, to get better each day knowing it is a step forward and a step back at times?  Just acknowledge what’s going well and what’s not going well. Then establish conversations and practices that share the great and honor the needs.

If we’re doing our part, we put our needs on the table before they are prompted or pulled out.  Vulnerability = greatest difference in determining a poor, a good, a great educator. The great ones are learners looking for guidance through conversations.  They have no need to hide anything.  They know what they do very well, and they know what they don’t do well.
